What is the World Cucumber Day?
The World Cucumber Day is the culmination of the worldwide experiment “Cultivate the Unusual”: Hendrick’s let cucumbers and botanists explore how sensitive cucumbers are. The green fruits are one of the most important ingredients of the Gin – it provides its extraordinary taste of cucumber flavor to the gin. The aim of the experiment was to cultivate the largest and most tasteless cucumber in time to the World Cucumber Day on June 14th
World Cucumber Day – the Celebration in Vienna
Guests entered into the unusual world of Hendrick’s and found their way back into the era of the “Roaring Twenties”: circus artists showed their skills, a Barker held an “ode to the cucumber”. On the wheel of fortune, guests could win fine prizes. DJ Cab Canavaral and DJ Shinowatz provided the extraordinary beats. And anyone who came with a cucumber and the outfit of the 1920s – Charleston, Burlesque, Mafia & Co. – enjoyed a free Hendricks Gin Tonic.
