I have been able to test the Unit for a couple of weeks and here are the Top things to know about the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool after my review
Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool – Design and build quality
The Pure Humidify+Cool has all the hallmarks of a Dyson product, with the distinctive bladeless design that allows you to put your arm through the entire central head. Finished in white and silver, this is one good-looking purifying fan.
The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool body size is 923 mm × 312 mm × 312 mm, and the weight is 8.29 kg.
Given that the Pure Humidify+Cool is a product that you’ll use all year round, having the flexibility to place it where you want it is desirable, while the neat design means that it looks good out on display.
Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool – Features & Review
Opening the box, there’s little in the way of installation required. The main fan unit comes pre-assembled, so the only job is to place the two-part filter in place. The inner carbon filter is for gasses, while the outer HEPA filter is built to capture small particles. Filters should last around a year, depending on the use and the level of pollutants in your home. Replacements cost approximately Euro 70.- and the app will let you know when it’s time to make the change.
As with the Pure Cool Tower, the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool has an LCD panel on its front. The default display shows you a graph that tells you how clean your air is overall.
If you want more detail, you can use the remote control to cycle through the different readouts. You can see readings for PM2.5 (fine particles that can make their way into your lungs); PM10 (particles that can bring on asthma attacks and cause breathing issues); VOCs (volatile organic compounds, which are harsh chemicals that can be in anything from cleaning products to the glue used in old furniture); and NO2 (nitrogen dioxide, which is a gaseous pollutant from cars and fossil fuels that can cause respiratory problems).
Having the read-outs is useful, as you can see when readings spike and make changes accordingly. For example, if you notice that VOC readings spike when you start to use a cleaning product, you could investigate switching to a less intrusive brand.
To round things off, the Pure Humidify+Cool can also measure temperature and humidity, so you can monitor the overall comfort of a room. From a user perspective, it could be also interesting to see CO2 levels in addition
For direct control, you can use the remote control or hook the fan up to the excellent Dyson Link app. As with other Dyson fans, the remote magnetically attaches to the top of the fan head. You can switch on/off the machine on the app, as well as you can create your schedule online when you want so that your room is always cleaned at specific times.
If you prefer to have it in fan-only mode, you can just tap the blue button to switch to Cool mode. In both cooling and heating modes, you have direct control over fan speed, enabling you to make adjustments to the intensity of the fan.
The auto mode could be the best option. This monitors pollutants and then changes fan speed automatically to clear a room, and it will adjust the fan too. When the air is clean and the room is at the set temperature, the fan turns off automatically. That’s pretty clever and means you can set and forget the fan.
The oscillation is clever on this fan. You can set its angle (45, 90, 180, and 350 degrees). Using the app, you can select the starting point for the oscillation, which makes it really easy to cover the area you want. This feature is often lacking in other fans.
There’s a time option, which lets you set the run-time. The timer goes up in 15-minute intervals until the hour, then hourly until a maximum of nine hours. And, there’s a Nighttime mode, which drops the brightness of the display and sets the fan speed at a maximum setting of 4.
From the App, you can set a schedule for different days, including setting the fan speed, its mode, and the temperature. In this way, the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool can be programmed in many ways
The app provides more detailed readings from the sensors and even lets you dive into the history, so you can monitor air conditions over time, too.
Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool – Amazon Alexa
Amazon Alexa support is built in. Using your voice, you can set the fan speed, and put the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool into the Cool mode. Dyson has updated the skill so that you can now turn on oscillation using your voice, but I couldn’t toggle the Diffused mode on or off.

Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool as a fan
Air purification works best in distribution mode in winter. Then the air is directed to the back of the device and there is no cold airflow. Alternatively, the Pure Humidify+Cool also serves as a fan on warm days. For this purpose, Dyson equips the device with the so-called “Jet Axis Control” technology. Behind the bulky term are two nozzles, which are housed on both sides inside the Pure Humidify+Cool. They can be controlled independently of one another and should thus ensure a cool airflow. The device can also continue to purify the air.

Airflow is also very good, although since air comes out in a small stream from the air blade, it’s a little harder to measure. The upside is that this air is steady and constant, with less buffering than from a traditional fan.

If that sounds high-tech, then wait for the next function: In Breeze mode, the Pure Humidify+Cool is supposed to generate an airflow that looks like a cool breeze. That felt quite natural on site. “Do you know what? This is my favorite function,” says Victoria Palmer, Design Lead RDD Health and Beauty at Dyson, to COMPUTER BILD. “When we had the first software version, it was such an incredible moment in the office,” continued Palmer. There is a lot of hard work behind the supposedly simple mode. To make the breeze as natural as possible, engineers have collected over 40 million data points at eight locations on the company campus in Malmesbury, England, and developed their own algorithm. Pretty cool.
Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool as a humidifier
Dyson has invested a similar amount of detail in the humidifier function. Background: The water from the 5-liter tank that is used for air humidification contains bacteria and must be properly treated in advance. Pure Humidify+Cool uses UV-C light, which kills 99.9 percent of all bacteria in the water. The engineers have developed a PTFE tube so that the radiation is as thorough as possible. The substance is generally better known under the trade name Teflon. The material reflects the light and thus ensures thorough irradiation. In addition, the water on the evaporator flows through a network into which silver strands with biostatic properties have been incorporated, which capture the smallest particles and thus inhibit bacterial growth.
How to clean the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool: Easy cleaning
With a large number of bacteria and pollutants collected, the device sometimes has to be cleaned. To make it easy, Dyson has developed a deep cleaning cycle that thoroughly cleans all parts that come into contact with water. The Pure Humidify+Cool uses a glowing button to indicate that it is now time for cleaning. Instructions on the LC display guide users through the process.

Users can control the high-tech air purifier using a remote control or the “Dyson Link” app. They are available for iOS and Android. Via the application, users can see what the air pollution, temperature and humidity in the apartment are like and when it is time to change the filter. You can also control the device remotely. Dyson also equips the device with a night mode, which then cleans the air very quietly and dims the brightness of the display.

UNPACKING & PHOTO REVIEW of the Dyson Pure Humidify Cool
Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool body. The size is 923 mm × 312 mm × 312 mm, and the weight is 8.29 kg.
Shape similar to “Hot + Cool Fan Heater” that appeared in October 2011.
On the front of the main unit is a humidification maintenance button and a power on / off button.
There was a round LCD on the bottom of the button.
There are a filter cover removal button and a tank removal button.
The filter cover or tank can be removed by pressing down the buttons on both sides. There is one filter cover on the front and one on the back.
As an accessory, there are two air purification filters, a power cable, and remote control.
There is a magnet inside the remote control that can be attached to the top of the main unit.
The setting of the Dyson Pure Humidify Cool body and Water Tank
First, add water to the tank. Remove the tank by pressing down the tank removal buttons on both sides.
On the top of the tank, there are illustrations of humidifying and cleaning procedures with illustrations.
Because it has a handle, it can be carried with one hand.
There are 3 casters on the bottom.
The tank will contain up to about 5 liters of water.
Pour water. When the tank is placed in the sink, the caster rolls due to the inclination of the sink, and a happening occurs where the tank moves without permission. It seems better to add water after fixing the position of the tank firmly.
Next, install two air purification filters. First, remove the filter cover and attach the air purifying filter to the filter cover.
Fit the arrow mark of the air purifying filter into the red frame.
If you press the power on/off button on the main unit or the power button on the remote control, you can use Pure Humidify+Cool.
This display can be switched using the “i” button on the remote control. There are 11 different screens in total, including the air chamber of the room, humidity, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, temperature, and filter life.
The following image shows the number of fine particles up to 2.5μm in the air, such as cigarette smoke and bacteria. Green indicates that the air is clean. If a red number is displayed, the air in the room is very dirty.
You can also adjust humidity and air volume from the remote control. If humidity control is turned off, it can be used as a fan with an air cleaning function.
The air volume is 1-10 steps.
