Located in the first district the Graben is one of the most famous street in city center of Vienna. Very close to the St. Stephens cathedral it starts at the Stock-im-Eisen-Platz and ends at Kohlmarkt and Tuchlauben. The Graben hosts many wonderful historic Palais including the Palais Equitable, Generalihof, Grabenhof and the Palais Bartolotti-Partenfeld. One of the most impressive building is the magnificent Anker-Haus by famous architect Otto Wagnerbuilt between 1894 and 1895. Strolling through the Graben you recognise the Pestäule constructed by Emperor Leopold I. following the Great Plague of Vienna. In addition the Graben hosts 2 lovely fountains; their history goes back into the 15th century.
All the buildings at the Graben have been newly renovated and many international luxury brand labels like Hermes, Chanel, Dior and so on have their Flagship stores located here. If you are in Vienna do not miss the opportunity to visit this famous Viennese Street and enjoy the elegant flair.
