The Albertina square is located directly below, and in front of, the Albertina Museum which sits in an elevated position above the surrounding buildings and which is accessed by quite a wide and long staircase - there is also an escalator. At the top of the stairs there is another small plaza where there is a large equestrian statue of Archduke Albrecht, Duke of Teschen. This is a great position to get a good view looking down on and over the Albertina Square and the surrounding area. Attached to the wall at ground level before you head up the stairs is the Danube or Albrecht wall fountain that seeks to give an allegorical representation of the relationship between the city of Vienna and the River Danube. On each side of the large main marble fountain there are niches in the the wall that have marble statues of a woman and three children allegorically representing, on the left the Rivers Save, March, Salzach and Mur and on the right the Rivers Tisza, Raab, Enns and Traun. These statues were originally unveiled in 1869, badly damaged in WWII and largely restored within the last 20 years. Also in a separate section of the square on the right are the thought provoking and poignant Monuments against War and Fascism. There are a good number of important buildings that back onto the square including the State Opera House as well as many shops and cafes. 📢 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲! 📢: https://www.youtube.com/c/GregorSideris?sub_confirmation=1 #AlbertinaMuseum #Albertina #Vienna #Austria #WalkingVideo #Travel 🔷THE EQUIPMENT I USE🔷 🎥Camera: GoPro Hero 10 + GoPro MediaMod https://amzn.to/34XswNP 🎥Camera: DJI Pocket 2 +Creator Combo: https://amzn.to/3FH7Fen 🎤Microphone: Sennheiser MKE-400 : https://amzn.to/3nDNcBg https://de-de.sennheiser.com/mke-400 #Walkingtour #4kvideo #Vienna #Austria
