IWC Schaffhausen Engineering Partnership
Since January 2013, the Swiss watch manufacturer has acted as Official Engineering Partner of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team. Like the engineers of the Formula One ™ team, IWC designers, technicians and watchmakers are working tirelessly to achieve a level of perfection that both companies call “performance engineering.” IWC Schaffhausen has made a name for itself with the use of innovative materials such as titanium and ceramics. The trend towards miniaturization prevailing in Formula 1 is a process that requires a special innovative power, as is also in demand in the watch industry.
The IWC Ingenieur – Lighter, more elegant and classic
The IWC’s completely redesigned engineering collection is now available on the market. It is supplemented by an exclusive limited edition model of 250 pieces: the Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “50th Anniversary of Mercedes-AMG”. The design of the new Ingenieur collection is strongly oriented towards the first generations of the watch family from the 1950s and 1960s. The new models are given a striking vintage character and appear lighter, more elegant and more classical overall.
