The Christmas World

Located in front of the City hall, it is considered the best Christmas market in Vienna. You will find more than 150 booths, with handmade decoration, Christmas treasures, and delicious foods. Right in the middle, you can admire the huge Christmas tree that is set up using gorgeous fairy lights and ornaments. Additionally, there are many activities to entertain children of all ages.  Christmas world opens on the 18th of November and is there until the 30th of December.

The Christmas Village

Located at the Maria-Theresien-Platz, the Christmas Village offers more than 70 booths that offer endless goods. You can easily walk around the market and take in the Christmas spirit, and beauty that place has to offer while listening to festive music. A beautiful experience, that offers a lot of history and insight to the local culture. The Village is open from 22nd November to 26th December.

The Old Viennese Christmas Market

The old Christmas market is situated on the Freyung, and is a complete historic experience. The tradition of this Christmas market began in 1772 and is still active. They offer a number of traditional booths and many activities you can take part in. It is the best place if you are looking for unique products. For instance, local cheese, wines, and even handmade crafts. The market opens on 18th of November and is open till 23rd December.

Innsbruck, Tyrol

Old Town Market

The Old Town Market is located in front of the Golden Roof. The market offers about 70 booths and is known as the Fairy Tale Alley, as they feature scenes from famous fairy tales, along with other locations. Salzburg City, Salzburg

Salzburg Christkindlmarkt

Great post Greg. I have been to the Vienna and Salzburg markets and they are fantastic. I’d love to go to some others, such as Innsbruck and Hungerburg also sounds incredible.
